Awesome Burberry Prorsum: Fall 2010
If you can forgive the lame title for a moment – for there was simply no better way to say it. Christopher Bailey has done it again.
Reinventing the Burberry Prorsum brand time and again while still keeping the signature style, Bailey manages to sex up traditional outerwear like no-one else. This time it’s by way of uber hot thigh high boots in reptile leather, and sharp yet understated military jackets; some with transformational zips that take them from long to cropped.
Shearling, sheepskin and fur factor heavily into the collection. The fur chubby is taken to new volumes, balanced out by little on the bottom half (hint: this is the best way to pull off the chubby; with skinny pants or tights, and heels. The volume on top can slim out the legs.)
Shearling also made its way into some super cool pairs of buckled boots – tall and short – that we’ll undoubtedly be seeing in magazine shoots and street style blogs alike.
On the evening side of things, dresses and skirts in bright hues were ruched and gathered and layered, in variations of silk and lace.
